Fue un gran mérito cuando en 1995 Daniel Goleman publicó su libro “Inteligencia Emocional: ¿Por qué puede importar más que el concepto de coeficiente intelectual?“
Este libro abrió las puertas para que se discutiera en gran escala, en público y en las empresas la gran importancia de un buen manejo de las emociones. Se veía claramente que para poder desarrollar buenas relaciones personales y laborales y para lograr una vida exitosa era indispensable poder desarrollar nuestra Inteligencia Emocional.

Entonces: ¿Qué es la Inteligencia Emocional?

Daniel Goleman y otros autores dicen que se puede diferenciar la Inteligencia Emocional en cinco capacidades: 1. Conocer las propias emociones, 2. Manejarlas, 3. Reconocerlas en otros, 4. Poder auto-motivarse y 5. Gestionar las relaciones.
Luego hacen diferentes observaciones sobre estas áreas, algunas útiles, otras mas bien del tipo: „deberíamos poder controlar nuestros impulsos“, consejos bien intencionados, pero poco practicables. Y ahí nace el problema …

Inteligencia Emocional, mal definida

Al mezclar cinco diferentes habilidades desde “conocer las propias emociones“ hasta “gestionar relaciones“ bajo el termino de “Inteligencia Emocional“, Daniel Goleman y seguidores del mismo concepto no le dan suficiente cabida a la pregunta fundamental: ¿Cuál es la raíz principal de todas estas habilidades?

Sin duda es la propia conexión intima y fructífera con nuestras emociones. Si esta está bien forjada, todo el resto, ya sea reconocer las emociones en otros, manejar bien las relaciones u orientarnos hacia una vida exitosa, resulta mucho más fácil. Sin esta conexión fructífera, sin embargo, es casi imposible. Y es que no se puede manejar las emociones inteligentemente si no se entiende la Inteligencia innata en nuestras mismas emociones.

¿Y cómo se puede acceder a esta verdadera inteligencia emocional? Solo con una conexión suficientemente íntima y profunda con nuestras emociones.

El término: “Inteligencia Emocional“ promete explicarnos la Inteligencia que está en nuestras emociones, y más importante, hacerla accesible de una forma efectiva y confiable. Lamentablemente el concepto de “Inteligencia Emocional” según Daniel Goleman no lo cumple. Entonces la pregunta pendiente es: ¿Cómo desarrollar y fortalecer nuestra conexión con las emociones de tal manera que se nos revele su inteligencia?

La Inteligencia Emocional Revelada

Para poder acceder a la Inteligencia Emocional que está en nuestras emociones, necesitamos hacer tres pasos fundamentales.

  1. Deshacernos por completo del concepto cultural de los „sentimientos negativos“ porque es este concepto que nos impide conectarnos íntima y fructíferamente con nuestras emociones para poder entenderlas desde adentro, o sea, desde el punto de vista del alma y en consecuencia poder manejarlas adecuadamente.
  2. Rescatar, desarrollar y fortalecer nuestra facultad innata de procesar nuestros sentimientos a nivel energético, es decir, al mismo nivel donde se decide si vamos a tener un acceso intimo a lo que se esta moviendo en nuestra alma, o no.
  3. Sanación Emocional. Recuperar nuestra Inteligencia Emocional es un proceso en que paso a paso vamos afinando esta herramienta de orientación en la vida. Es un proceso en que vamos recuperando nuestra conexión con nuestro cuerpo, nuestros sentimientos y nuestra alma. Por tener un pasado con muchas heridas emocionales, este proceso muchas veces también incluye un periodo de Sanación Emocional. Por su puesto ésto se logra de la mejor forma aplicando nuestra facultad innata de procesar e integrar nuestros sentimientos (segundo paso).

Cuando logramos estos tres pasos es cuando llegamos a realizar la verdadera Inteligencia Emocional que se mueve en nuestras emociones. Todo el resto parte desde ahí.
